Riverview Holiday Park Reviews

"Excellent pod, clean and very spacious.Couldnt fault any part of the place."
Dean - Feb 2025
"Absolutely perfect! River View Holiday Park is a true gem. The cabin was spotless, beautifully designed, and the hot tub was the ultimate touch for a relaxing getaway. The surroundings are breathtaking, with nature all around making it feel like a serene escape from the world. Everything was clean, neat, and well-maintainedits clear they take pride in the park. The staff were incrediblefriendly, helpful, and always ready with a warm smile. Its rare to find a place that ticks every box, but this one absolutely does. Whether youre looking for peace and quiet or just some time to recharge, this is the ideal spot. I cant recommend it enough!"
Sarah - Jan 2025
"Beautiful area, great staff, comfortable cabin. Would recommend."
Verified Guest - Oct 2024
"Would not return and had to leave early as the place was so freezing. Hot tub wasn't ready so couldn't use this even although we explained it was the reason for booking the getaway. They were expecting us to arrive and no staff were there. We had to go knock on a guests home to find out how we could get into our pod to be told it's open just go in. We had no phone or internet signal and with it being in the middle of nowhere you would think the staff or owners would be there to help guests. Shower was broke pod was so cold we had to leave early."
Laura - Oct 2024
"Our Riverview Holiday Park review: Comfy, clean, everything worked great, had everything we needed and the hot tub was warm on arrival too!"
Nichol - Aug 2024
"Absolutely loved our time here didnt want to leave, the home was lovely, beds were comfy, everything was super clean and the staff were super helpful, hot tub was amazing will 100% be back!"
Verified Guest - Aug 2024
"We stayed for 4 nights from 8th July and we had the best time here. Lovely clean accommodation with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Hot tub is checked everyday and very clean and well maintained. Everyone on this park was lovely and friendly. We had such a great time here and we will definitely be coming back. Such a beautiful place! Perfect for the Newcastleton mountain bike trails aswell. Just a short walk to the village where you have everything you need. WI-FI included was great. Super quick WI-FI dont know why any other reviewers are saying otherwise. We really didnt want to leave. Cant wait to come back."
Stephanie - Jul 2024
"The only fault I would have was that getting in and out the shower was a little tight....but thats more a me problem ????"
Abi - Jul 2024

"Absolutely bliss can honestly say we would have loved to stay even longer, we went the day after we got married and the lovely people had left a bottle of fizz outside our door which was just perfect. Can't wait to book again"

"Great 3 night stay in the Retunder lodge with hot tub. Perfect for two adults and one child. Well equipped lodge including Smart TV with Netflix, YouTube etc and good WiFi. Hot tub was brilliant on the cold evenings!"
Allan - Nov 2023
"Great place to stay and get away from it all. Some good walks along the river, village 2 minute drive"
Jason - Nov 2023
"The location was beautiful. It was so relaxing and peaceful. The only negative was the WiFi didnt work although the staff tried and gave us a booster it also didnt work. But other than that it was perfect. I would recommend visiting if youre looking for a relaxing stay. The hot tub was amazing also."
Aidan - Nov 2023
"If you are looking for a quiet relaxing break in lovely surroundings this is for you. Husband is a fisher so was delighted to be able to fish whenever he wanted. Lodge was spotless and had everything you could think of. Would definitely recommend to friends and family."
Linda Anderson - Nov 2023
"Cleanliness marked down because of unwashed coffee mug in cupboard. Odd that there was only one toilet roll provided, we bought our own while there."
Andrew - Jun 2023
"Only stayed for 3 nights but its within easy walking distance of town and so peaceful. Will definitely stay again"
Diane - Jun 2023
"Absolutely loved our stay, the lodge was fantastic and the location couldn't be better!"
Emma - Feb 2020
"We had a cracking time staying here in November 2019and decided to come back in January 2020 - no regrets! The lodge is spotlessly clean and super comfy, even when its freezing outside. Pauline is a star, always happy to share local tips and update us on road closures - she even popped by to check everything was alright, which we really appreciated given the weather. Cant wait to return again! Its a gem, though Id hate for it to get so popular we cant get a booking. Highly recommended!"
Harriet - Jan 2020
"Really enjoyed it, can't wait to come back again!"
Claire - Jan 2020
"We recently stayed at this lovely lodge and honestly, it exceeded our expectations. The place was spotless and super comfy, making it a real home from home. The kitchen was a highlight - perfect for cooking up a storm on those rainy, chilly days, with plenty of space for all our pots and plates. Inside, it felt warm and invitingand surprisingly roomy for four adults. The setting was simply stunning - rolling hills and a gentle river right outside. Pauline was a star, really helpful with directions and updates about the flooding, checking in on us and offering her contact for anything we needed. We didn't want to leave!"
Charlotte - Nov 2019
"We stayed at this lodge recently and honestly, its quite lovely. The place feels personal and welcoming. The bed was a tad too soft for our liking, but overall, it was pretty comfy. The shower pressure did drop if someone used the kitchen tap though."
Emma - Nov 2019
"Really enjoyed our stay, would definitely come back!"
Emma - Sep 2019
"Really enjoyed the stay overall"
Olivia - Apr 2019
"Lovely spot, peaceful and well-equipped"
Mark - Apr 2019
"Great holiday here in November 2019. Came back again in January 2020. No disappointments.
Lovely lodge, immaculate condition.
Very comfortable, warm and cosy even though it was cold outside.
Pauline is lovely, and good for local knowledge and places to visit. Road closures etc. She also comes to check if everything is good and if there are any problems, which we thought was really good of her given the weather.
We can't wait to visit again. Would highly recommend although it pains me to say so as it could be so popular we might be unable to book."
Evelyn - Jan 1970
"Loved it!! Perfect for our needs. Will definitely return."

Attractions Near Riverview Holiday Park

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Riverview Holiday Park. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT
about 11 Miles
Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 19 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Mabie Farm Park - DG2 8EZ
about 33 Miles
Mabie Farm Park is a firm favourite. Ideal for families with younger children ,this family oriented farm park has lots of animals to meet and also offers Donkey Rides, Paddle Boats and Slides as well as Trampolines and Bouncy Castles. Kids can run around on the Soft Play Area while mum and dad relax in the Tea Room. There is also a Farm Shop onsite selling toys, gifts and fresh local produce including cakes and jams. Seasonal activities can also be enjoyed including a spookly tea and walk on Haloween. The Farm closes for the winter on October 31st.
Kailzie Gardens - EH45 9HT
about 34 Miles
Kailzie Gardens are another popular attraction and are an excellent place for a day out in the summertime. The gardens are a peaceful and colourful place to spend the day with a wide variety of flora and fauna on display. Other attractions here include live viewing of the Tweed Valley ospreys, a Gift Shop where children can pick up a souvenir, a Tearoom serving tasty local produce and home cooked meals, a Children's Corner, Putting Green, and a gorgeous private 2½ mile stretch on the River Tweed where visitors can enjoy Fly Fishing and a Picnic Area.
Go Ape Northumberland - NE48 1NT
about 35 Miles
Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
Lake District Wildlife Park - CA12 4RD
about 36 Miles
We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look".  Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project.  The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish!  Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
Cragside House and Gardens - NE65 7PX
about 38 Miles
Cragside House and Gardens (National Trust) are a popular Northumberland attraction with a beautiful stately home and gorgeous grounds to explore. The rhododendron labyrinth is a unique and fun addition to the grounds and there is also an adventure playground where children can let of steam. It is the stunning scenery that attracts most of the visitors though with many bringing a picnic for a relaxing family day out. The house itself hosts exhibits which change regularly. World of the Water Wizard is currently on display.
