Heathergate Boutique Holiday Park Reviews

"We had an awesome week at this lodge! The place was spotless and well-equipped, everything we needed was there. The staff were super friendly and really helpful, which made a big difference. Our spa lodge was just perfect-such a nice view and a great spot to relax. Also, they went above and beyond by posting back something we left behind. Definitely a fantastic stay and a great base for exploring the town. Would recommend!"
Emma Roberts - Jan 2025
"The lodge was genuinely lovely - spacious, beautifully decorated and spotless. We were really impressed with it!"
Emma - Nov 2024
"The lodges kitchen was fully stocked, which was great. It stayed warm and cosy and the hot tub at sunset was a real highlight. Lovely stay!"
Emma Carter - Nov 2024
"We recently stayed at this lovely lodge and honestly, it ticked most boxes for us. The place was really spacious and super comfy, with soft beds and sofas perfect for relaxing after a day out. It had everything we needed for a weeks getaway for three adults and our dog, which was great. Booking a Tesco delivery was straightforward enough, so no hassle there. We got really lucky with the weather in October and the patio furniture on the huge decking area was just perfect for soaking up the sun with those incredible views. The hot tub was a real treat-really well maintained and lovely to unwind in. The only thing was, since the decking is fully enclosed, the hot tub guys had to walk through the lodge to check on it. They said they come daily between 9 and 10, but we only saw them once, on the Saturday. We were there from Monday to Monday, so it was a bit frustrating waiting around for them when we couldve been enjoying breakfast or the hot tub. Still, were seasoned lodge lovers and this ones definitely in our top 3!"

"Our Heathergate Boutique Holiday Park review: We stayed at this lodge recently and honestly, we really enjoyed our time there. The location is just perfect-so close to Hadrians Wall and Hexham, making it super easy to explore the area. The lodge itself was spotless, very well maintained and had everything we needed, including plenty of USB ports, a decent TV and reliable Wi-Fi. We didnt use the on-site facilities, so cant comment on those, but the peaceful surroundings made for a really relaxing break. One thing to mention is that the bathrooms could do with some extra storage for toiletries-there's nowhere to put toilet bags or personal bits, which was a bit of a pain. The twin bedroom was a little basic; no mirror, no shelves, or small dressing table, so doing hair or makeup was tricky. Also, more drawers wouldve been handy-one bedside cabinet between two beds isnt quite enough. The lighting was a bit awkward too-getting the main light on or off from the bed involved a stretch! Privacy blinds or curtains that let in a bit more light would be a good addition, as curtains made the room quite dark. That said, these are just tiny niggles. Wed definitely stay again because the location is just so convenient and the lodge was comfortable overall. Be careful with the speed bumps near reception-theyre pretty vicious, so take your time! Overall, a lovely spot and wed recommend it."

"Great stay! The lodge was super comfy and the scenery just took our breath away."
Emma Johnson - Sep 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay; the lodge was spotless, beautifully maintained and had everything we needed. Lovely!"
Emma - Apr 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay - the place was peaceful and spotless. The hot tub was definitely a highlight! Only downside was the double mattress; it was a bit too firm for our liking. Still, we'd come back!"
Emma - Apr 2024
"We stayed in a spa lodge last week and it was fantastic. The place was spotless, especially the hot tub. The peaceful setting and nearby Hexham really made our trip special. Highly recommend!"
Emma - Apr 2024
"We had an amazing week at Alder Spa Lodge! The place was spotless and felt really spacious, with everything we could possibly need. The beds were so comfy, we slept like logs. The views were stunning-watching the sheep visit every day was such a bonus. The hot tub was a real highlight, big and super relaxing and the sauna and steam room added a nice touch. The staff were lovely, friendly and always ready to help. Its a perfect spot for families, loads of space for the little ones to play on the decking without any worries. Privacy was top-notch, we barely saw another soul all week. Honestly, it was totally worth every penny and were already planning to come back. Cant recommend it enough!"

Jamie - Mar 2024
"Really enjoyed it, would definitely recommend."
Emma - Jan 2024
"We had a lovely time at the lodge, honestly. The hot tub was a real treat and it made our stay special. The only downside was the mattress in the main bedroom - felt every spring, which was a bit of a letdown for a place claiming five stars. Wouldnt stop us coming back though, especially during Christmas. We just didnt want to cause a fuss during the holidays!"
Rachel - Dec 2023
"Beautiful setting, cosy lodge, relaxing and peaceful."

"We had a lovely stay here! The place was super cosy and well kitted out and the views over the countryside are just stunning. The hot tub was a real treat after a day exploring. The locations great too - close enough to Hexham, Newcastle and Hadrians Wall for easy trips."
Emma - Aug 2020
"We stayed at this lodge recently and had a really lovely time. The place was spot-on for a weekend getaway. Id seen a review mentioning only plastic tumblers and limited utensils, so I brought some extras. Turns out, they had proper glasses inside and plenty of utensils, so no worries at all!"
Emma - Aug 2020
"We loved staying at this lodge! Its super cosy and well kitted out with everything you could need. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and the robes for the hot tub were great. The only tiny thing was needing some hooks for the robes when you're not in the tub. Still, highly recommend!"
Emma - Jul 2020
"We had an amazing time at Heathergate Country Park in the Portl and lodge. The hot tub under the stars was so soothing. Definitely planning to return soon!"
James - Mar 2020
"Honestly, we had a lovely time! The lodge was spot on-really well-equipped and cosy. The hot tub was a real highlight, kept spotless with daily servicing. Only downside was the check-in wait, which was about 25 minutes despite calling multiple times. We didnt want to leave though, so thats a plus!"

"We had such a lovely stay! The cabin was really well equipped, honestly felt like I could have packed up the kitchen and taken it home. The views at night were breathtaking, especially with all the stars visible. Hexham is charming and the local pubs serve some cracking food. If we're ever in the area again, well definitely stay here!"
Emma - Sep 2019

"ticked all the boxes for us. Lovely field view from our balcony, enjoyed the wild life, glorious sunsets, hot tub. happy to stay here, relaxing, quiet. but if want bit more then, 5/10 mins from Hexham town centre, shops, takeaways etc. 10 mins from A66, 30-45 mins into Newcastle and other places on Northeast coast. Accommodation was clean, almost new, light and airy. bed comfortable, 2 bathrooms meant no waiting .. . . . . . . . . ."

Attractions Near Heathergate Boutique Holiday Park

Here are some of the activities and experiences you can enjoy on your visit to Heathergate Boutique Holiday Park. If you discover a worthy inclusion to this list on your hot tub break, please let us know and we'll add it so that other visitors can enjoy it too.
Go Ape Northumberland - NE48 1NT
about 9 Miles
Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.
Kielder Water Bird of Prey Centre - NE48 1BT
about 20 Miles
Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.
Cragside House and Gardens - NE65 7PX
about 26 Miles
Cragside House and Gardens (National Trust) are a popular Northumberland attraction with a beautiful stately home and gorgeous grounds to explore. The rhododendron labyrinth is a unique and fun addition to the grounds and there is also an adventure playground where children can let of steam. It is the stunning scenery that attracts most of the visitors though with many bringing a picnic for a relaxing family day out. The house itself hosts exhibits which change regularly. World of the Water Wizard is currently on display.
Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery - CA3 8TP
about 31 Miles
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Alnwick Castle and Gardens - NE66 1NQ
about 35 Miles
Alnwick Castle and Gardens today are perhaps best known for their roles as Hogwarts in Harry Potter movies but have for many years been a family favourite attraction in Northumberland. The beautiful medieval castle is open to the public and during school holidays and at Christmas and Halloween a range of activities can be enjoyed including Santa's Workshop, a Pumpkin Parade, Spell Making Lessons and Owl and Bird of Prey Flying.
