About Ashlea Pools Lodges

Ashlea Pools Lodges have a spectacular location in one of the most beautiful and peaceful parts of south Shropshire and holds the David Bellamy Gold Award for Conservation. The site itself is recommended to couples and families seeking rest and relaxation although outdoor activities are plentiful in the area.

Affording stunning views over the picturesque valleys and rolling hills, these lodges have an exclusive and tranquil feel. Locally the market towns of Ludlow, Church Stretton, Bishop's Castle and historic Shrewsbury are all within easy reach and offer many attractions.  Popular day trips include Ironbridge Gorge and Blists Hill Open Air Museum, however many guests simply prefer to sit back and watch the wild birds and waterfowl on the lake.

There are two types of lodge to choose from at Ashlea Pools Lodges. The Mandarin Lodge sleeps 4 and is luxurious and spacious. The Kingfisher Lodge Plus can sleep up to 6 and has two bedrooms and a sofa bed in the lounge. The Kingfisher also has a private outdoor hot tub.

Ashlea Pools Lodges Reviews

"Did not get there. My ratings are from photos we saw online."
David - Dec 2024
"Such a nice lodge and a nice welcoming with the Christmas tree - very comfy and hot tub was nice to go in and relax"
Caitlin - Dec 2024
"Lovey cabin and felt super cosy! Our TV had very random channels like 4 sets of itv but no CBeebies for our daughter but that wasnt anything major as we didnt watch it much on our stay anyways, if we paid for the wifi it might have all connected and worked properly. There wasnt any coffee/tea/milk sachets on arrival which maybe a little feedback for the future as we didnt have our morning tea/coffee but that is kinda our fault for not being more prepared ????"
Verified Guest - Nov 2024
"Great place to stay weve been going for a few years now & booked again for next year already ????Lodges are so clean & tidy & everything you could think of to enjoy your weekend. Welcome basket this year was a very nice touch ???? We love the hottub but in these autumn/winter months maybe a cover/gazebo could be put over them so could still use them when raining (just a suggestion) We cant wait to return next year ????"
Charlotte - Nov 2024
"Absolutely stunning lodge and location. Spotlessly clean (I used to be an air bnb cleaner and couldnt fault it). Brilliant atmosphere, staff super helpful. Facilities are excellent with nearby shops or cafe on site that has every essential item that you may need. Lodge has everything you may need for cooking, cleaning etc. We are two over worked nhs nurses who desperately needed time to rejuvenate and thats exactly what we got. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back again!"
Verified Guest - Nov 2024
"Our VIP lodge was spotlessly clean, as was the hot tub. We were given lovely, white robes to wear and white towels. The two Chesterfield sofas were very comfortable."
Sharon - Nov 2024
"Brilliant lodges with everything that you need, really clean and modern too."
Verified Guest - Nov 2024
"Everything you could want, nice and modern. Great furniture and fittings"

"Beautiful lodge. Loved that it was all wooden inside made it very cosy.Everything was clean. Kitchen Facilities looked new. Bed was comfy. The extras of towels/ dressing robes/ washing up supplies were gratefully received."
Victoria - Oct 2024
"Loved the lodge"
Julia - Oct 2024
"Me and my husband stayed here for the first time, you could not fault it! The perfect weekend get away. Such a peaceful location where the only sound you hear is birds and the train passing occasionally. Staff in the reception/cafe were so polite and helpful. The lodge was spotless, had everything you needed in it. Will definitely be returning."
Lucy - Oct 2024
"Cabin was lovely and warm. Clean and very comfortable. Really spacious as well."
Jess - Oct 2024
"Excellent facilities but handrails may be needed in the showers for certain types of handicapped visitors."
Barry - Sep 2024
"We had a fantastic stay in this lodge, overall it is a lovely one however there is a good bit of tlc needed to fixtures and fittings. Chest of Drawer handles fall off when opening, same with door handles, bottom shelf in fridge is broke so you cant stand bottles up and the bed in the main bedroom isnt particularly comfy. Be aware aswell that the train track runs directly behind the lodge so it can be quite loud. We would stay at the park again but probably opt for a different lodge."
Hayley - Sep 2024
"Very good, no complaints"
Verified Guest - Sep 2024
"This was perfect for a relaxing hot tub break. The lodge was basic and quite small, but a clean wooden base - which was ideal for our needs. The fishing lake was just in front of the lodge which our daughter loved. A beautiful spot, tucked away in a quiet location. Yes, you do have the trains, which take a bit of getting used to, but quite quickly they just become part of the surroundings. We will definitely be back, lovely and friendly staff and a brilliant base for Shropshire."
Verified Guest - Aug 2024
"Perfect lodge with everything you need."
Verified Guest - Jul 2024
"Stopped in the Mandarin Plus for 4 nights and was clean with decent facilities including kitchen, TV and Hot Tub. The settees were a little worn but comfortable and wooden cladding a little dated,"
Verified Guest - Jun 2024
"Hot tub over heated but staff were good and came and sorted it"
James - Jun 2024
"Lovely with really comfy bedsFurnished to high standardsLovely touches eg bathrobes, wicker little wicker baskets with tea/coffee,biscuits,sweets,etcGreat views"
Valerie - Jun 2024
"Really friendly polite staff. Hot tub was checked during our stay. Surroundings are so peaceful, lake is beautiful. Cabin had plenty of items provided such as utensils, towels, washing up items etc. Everything was easy to use with instructions provided. Info provided on things to do in the area. Mobile signal we had no issue with. Everywhere was clean and tidy. Would definitely come back!"
Holly - Jun 2024
"Just feels a bit tired .Settee comfy but worn One table chair weave coming apart. Living room Just looked dark because curtains were brown"

Rob - Jul 2022
"Lovely lodge. Peaceful and dog friendly. Plenty space in lodge. Only small note would be better outdoor seating. We had bench and table. Chairs would hv been more convenient for enjoying the Lovely sunshine we had."

"Had a lovely 2 night stay, very tranquil and the lodges are beautiful with everything you need."
Tracey - Jul 2022
"Had a great time. Will defo go back at some point."
Zainul - Jul 2022
"Beautiful park with very peaceful surroundings. It is a little disappointing that the cafe/bar doesn’t stay open in the evenings as it would have been really nice to stop by for a drink after dinner.
