"No entertainment of an evening. Had three teenagers 14, 15, 16 who spent, 45minutes at £10 each, on an assault course. They completed it in 20 minutes and redid it. They were not impressed. They reluctantly played board games which we took with us. Fabulous for young children or couples. Cafe - awesome food slightly overpriced but what you would expect to pay on a holiday camp. Great facilities for dogs. Lodge was lovely. Overall a good holiday for a short stay ( 3 days 2 nights) hot tub - although private you are overlooked by everyone"

"Such a lovely place to stay in a really beautiful, private location. The owners were really friendly and helpful, nearby if needed but without breaking that sense of privacy. The hot tub was perfect after a day of cycling! One thing to be aware of, the cottage is right under Stansted's flight path, and so there's a lot of aircraft noise. It only took us a couple of hours to get used to it and it didn't spoil our holiday at all, but something to be aware of if you're sensitive to noise. "

The cottage is very spacious with good equipment in the kitchen and the bathroom. The bed is really comfortable. The garden is secluded; dog proof and with good furniture. Locally renowned for the Sheep Steeple chasing and daily goat races this is a really unique family attraction that the kids will love. You can really get hands on with the farm animals with the animal handling sessions and you can have a go at teaching the parrots to talk! The crazy craft cabin will keep even the most creative entertained with pottery and painting amongst other things. When you are in need of a rest head for the The Hungry Shepherd Tea Room where you can enjoy a bite to eat and children can burn even more energy in the indoor play area.

Powis Castle and Gardens - SY21 8RF

This National Trust site is one of the finest in Wales. The stunning castle was once a medieval fortress and has been remodelled several times over the last 400 years. Go Ape Cheshire - WA16 6RW

Out of all of the Go Ape! courses the one in Cheshire is the most spread out and it takes staff ten minutes to patrol the site on bike - which gives a good indication of the size of this place. If you're looking for an adventurous and memorable day out then Go Ape is highly recommended. Trek through the treetops, swing between the trees and enjoy zip wire rides all as part of your experience. This attraction opens every day from the end of March to end October and is open on weekends in November. Go Ape Cheshire is closed every Tuesday except school holidays.
