We had a lovely stay in this cottage. The interior was light and airy with comfortable bedrooms and living area. The hot tub was a bonus at the end of the day. Cottage 1877 is a lovely holiday home. Was perfect for a party of 4 friends but would also return with my family. Clean, modern and spacious. Good size hot tub and nice outdoor area. Close proximity to Shrewsbury and Oswestry. Helpful and friendly owners.
Patricia - Sep 2023
A lovely comfortable cottage, well situated for what we wanted on our week away.
Joyce - Sep 2023
We four Canadians arrived by taxi without difficulty. Colin, our host, offered to take us to the nearest supermarket to stock up for the week. A lovely, well maintained cottage. Decor is spot on, very comfortable and clean. The Hot tub was amazing- and the filed it backs onto has great views and lots of sheep and cows. The owners are very friendly and responsive, however, they also leave you alone to your privacy. Location is great- very easy to get around the sights such as Powys Castle, Shrewsbury and Oswestry. Would ove to go back.

Owners very helpful and cottage was generally of a good standard
Dean - Aug 2022
This was a great break, the owners are very friendly, the only thing you have to get used to is no mobile reception. This is a good if you want to break from work etc. However, the place has great reception. We will be back at some point as this was a relaxing place, very quiet.
Helen - Jul 2022
This is a beautiful well equipped cottage, we especially enjoyed the large hot tub (complete with lights!) which has uninterrupted countryside views. Our son also enjoyed playing in the enclosed garden.
Brenda - Jun 2022
A lovely comfortable cottage. Well appointed. In a quiet location overlooking farmland. Relaxing hot tub. Looking forward to visiting again in the, hopefully, not too distant future. Thank you.
Richard - Jun 2022
This was a most comfortable and relaxing base for exploring the Welsh-English border country. It was always a welcome place to return to after an exhausting day of exploring, especially with the prospect of sitting in the hot tub overlooking the fields on the River Severn's banks.
Christine - May 2022
A lovely cottage in an attractive setting. Very clean and attractively decorated.
Laura - Apr 2022
We had a fantastic holiday staying in the beautiful 1877 Cottage. Very high quality, clean and stylish. Would highly recommend.
Andrew - Mar 2022
Great location for walking. The accommodation was very comfortable and clean. There were 4 of us and whilst the living area wasn't that big, we didn't feel crowded. Beds and bedrooms were very comfortable and the shower was great. We wanted a nice hot tub and this one didn't disappoint - we enjoyed each evening in there, just catching up after a da y of exploring. Shrewsbury was a great day out with all of it's independent shops. The walk up to Rodney's pillar was really good.
Elizabeth - Mar 2022
Perfect retreat. Quality cottage in rural location was just what the doctor ordered. Loved the hot tub, well maintained, spotless and comfortable with lovely countryside view. Shrewsbury is in easy reach. Sainsbury and M& S Simply Food on the outskirts (Google the postcode for the sat nav). Chinese at The Breddwin a 10 min drive was gorgeous. A lov ely 45 minute drive took us to Chester which was beautiful. Lovely hosts Colin and Suzanne were nearby if help needed but we were totally private.
Linda - Feb 2022
The cottage is in a beautiful position surrounded by gorgeous countryside. It has been finished to a high standard and was the perfect size for our group of 4. We would definitely stay again when we are visiting the area.

Super cottage in a lovely quiet and relaxing setting. It has everything you need and is top quality. We spent two nights over New Year and it was perfect for our post Xmas chill out - the hot tub with views across the fields is spot on. The owner was very welcoming and has a property to be proud of; one I would highly recommend in a lovely part of Shropshire, which is a great area to explore.

We had a fantastic week at cottage 1877 with our two young children. The cottage is really lovely, comfortable and well equipped. The hot tub is fantastic and was a big hit with our kids. It is completely private and has a lovely view across fields. The location is great with plenty to do in the area. Highlights for us were Shrewsbury centre (great indoor market and lovely park called the Quarry), Powis Castle, Lake Vyrnwy and Attingham Park. I would highly recommended this cottage to others.
Catherine - Oct 2021
Staying at this cottage was very relaxing. Watching the sheep in the field whilst reclining in the hot tub. Sitting in the lounge on the comfortable sofa looking out of the floor to ceiling windows with the sun shining in. Two cats strolling by. Away from the cottage. Shrewsbury , quad biking and Hawkstone follies a must. Wonderful countryside.
Andrew - Oct 2021
This cottage is fantastic for a family or 2 couples as we did. It is very clean and finished to a high standard. It is remote and not overlooked by anyone which makes the use of the top quality hot tub a great experience looking over open fields. We walked to all 3 local pubs 2 of which are under a mile away and the Royal Hill which is approximatel y 2.5 miles away. (Great food, staff and drinks at very reasonable price) Colin the owner is nearby and is very helpful and friendly. Dont hesitate.
