Larkshayes Cottages is a countryside escape with a bit of class (plus and a fab hot tub!) Set on the edge of the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, these converted stables offer guests peaceful Devon views, slick interiors and the kind of rural calm where you can really unwind and catch your breath. Each cottage has its own unique style with private verandas, sunken hot tubs and fully kitted-out kitchens. You'll be greeted by a lovely welcome pack containing tea, coffee, biscuits and a bottle of wine to kick things off in style.

This is an excellent location as you’re also just two miles from sister park Andrewshayes, where you can use the covered heated pool (Easter to October), grab a drink at the bar and let the kids run riot in the soft play and playground. Handy if you’ve got little ones or fancy a nice drink somewhere new.

For couples, we’d go with Otter Cottage. It’s made for two, has an electric woodburning stove and the veranda is spot-on for a glass of wine in the hot tub. Or go bigger with Corry Brook Cottage which sleeps six, has great views and loads of space inside and out.

Enjoy plenty to do nearby as you're just 20 minutes from the Jurassic Coast. Or head to Lyme Regis or Charmouth for fossil hunts or just to smash some fish and chips by the sea. Axminster is nearby for shops and local food, and Exeter is under an hour if you fancy a cathedral or a bit more bustle.

Larkshayes Cottages is a fab, peaceful spot that's private without being cut off and has all the comforts you'd expect. Many guests return here year after year. Check your dates below.

"Our Larkshayes Cottages review: Hope to have a return visit had a great time"
Mark - Feb 2020
"On arrival we were greeted by Caroline, who gave us a quick tour. The cottage was very warm and cosy, with underfloor heating. We each had a dressing gown and slippers, perfect for going to and fro the hot tub. The hot tub was ready to use when we arrived, which was perfect after our journey.
Larkshayes cottages are a little touch of heaven."
Verified Guest - Jan 2020
"Honestly, everything was spot on. We had a great stay and wouldnt hesitate to book again. The only thing that could improve is clearer directions-maybe a map or grid reference instead of just written instructions. Still, highly recommended!"
Emma - Oct 2019
"A great spot for unwinding, really peaceful and super convenient too."
James - Oct 2019
"From the moment we arrived and were welcomed by Caroline, we knew we were in for a good stay. We stayed in Otter Cottageand honestly, it was spotlessly clean and felt really cosy. The owners have thought of pretty much everything - the kitchen was fully equipped, with a dishwasher and washing machine that proved to be super handy. We even found a bottle of prosecco chilling in the fridge, which was a lovely touch! The cottage also has two smart TVs with access to Netflix and other streaming services, which came in very handy since the weather was quite rainy most of the time. We loved relaxing in the hot tub - its much bigger than others weve been in before, so plenty of room for everyone. If I had to pick a tiny gripe, it would be that an ironing board wouldve been useful, but the welcome book mentioned you can request one, so no big deal. The location was a bit remote - in the middle of nowhere, really. On one hand, thats quite peaceful, but it did mean it took a while to get anywhere, especially since most roads are country lanes and quite narrow. Definitely need a sat nav to avoid getting lost! We spent some time at the nearby beaches, mostly pebble ones, which were lovely. Exeter was about 30-40 minutes away and made for a nice day trip. Now, Ive got to mention something that wasnt the owners fault at all - we encountered an absolute plague of crane flies, or daddy long legs, during our stay. It honestly felt like a biblical plague! Were pretty sure it had to do with breeding seasonand taking into account that we were on a working farm, there wasnt much we could do about it. We couldnt keep the windows or doors open much, which made the inside quite stuffy. They also seemed to be attracted to the hot tub when we were using it, which was a bit annoying. But again, this isnt a reflection on the owners or the cottage - just a natural hiccup. Overall, we had a lovely break and really enjoyed our time away. Would definitely recommend!"
Emma - Sep 2019
