Hornbeam Country Park Reviews

"The lodge was immaculately clean considering the times we are in. Very spacious & modern. Just the beds could do with some new mattresses."
Sally-ann - Aug 2020
"Perfect relaxing holiday"
Hannah - Aug 2020
"Have stayed in many lodges and this is by far the best one and will be returning back as soon as we can. Didn't want to go out it was so lovely and cosy perfect for the whole family and even better with the hot tub. Everything was spotless and couldn't fault anything. All the little details added towels etc were even better as we didn't have to worry about it. So quiet to, never got disturbed. Great place."
Clare - Mar 2020
"The lodge was lovely but had orginally booked the platinum spa five but contacted last then a week before to be told was unavailable and should never have been available."
Victoria - Feb 2020
"We had a fantastic time here with our elderly collie. Don't hesitate to book a break here, you will not be disappointed. We will be back!"
Verified Guest - Jan 2020
"Wow! Such a beautiful luxury feel lodge! I was overwhelmed with how lovely it actually was! We stayed in signature 8 and it was fabulous! The pictures do NOT do it justice! Everything you could possibly need was there. Even books and some games in the chest by the dining table, sofas really comfy, the bed was unreal! Hair dryer even in the bathroom draw and a complimentary cosmetics bag with goodies in. We had a welcome pack of cookies and teas coffee ect, hot tub was heated cleaned and ready to go! The hot tub was my favourite part. The only negative thing I can say about the lodge is that we got a little bit lost finding it but thats because it was late at night but the welcome sign was quite small. Thats it! I would absolutely recommend, we had such a lovely relaxing time here. The one lady that I spoke to was more than helpful and very friendly. Would definitely recommend and I would 100% return. Amazing. Book book book !"
Cherelle - Nov 2019
"Great little break away for half term. Just was over far too quickly. Wish we had booked the full week rather than Monday-Friday.
The lodge was one of the nicest we have stayed in. Lack of facilities let the site down a little, but as a family we were out and about every day. So much to see and explore in the area no matter what the weather. Check out Knightsayers in Tiverton if the weather is good. Great woodland walks.
The Keep in Dorchester and Fleet Air Museum are a must for anyone with an interest in military history and / or planes"
Jonathan - Nov 2019
"Just amazing to be there. Wish we didnt have to come home! Hope to see everyone there again next year!"
Richard - Nov 2019
"We got exactly what we wanted from the break, a lovely peaceful and relaxing time. Our lodge was lovely, spotless and very well presented and had everything you could need."
Jan - Jul 2019
"Brilliant relaxing holiday, nice weather and peaceful site. Shops and tourists locations all within a 20 minute drive."
Rachel - Jan 1970
"We had a lovely week away. The weather was stunning which meant sitting on the balcony of the lodge and relaxing was what we did for most of the time. The hot tub was very pleasant to go into as well. The surrounding area is beautiful, as we too out dog with us we walked a lot of miles exploring. Around the lodge there is a local shop and an Indian but Honiton (15min drive) has a wider variety of shops and food which was very nice. Due to all the appliances in the kitchen of the lodge we took a lot of our own food to cook when there but there are places to eat from around the area. 10/10 would recommend to anyone after a peaceful relaxing holiday with a nice surrounding area"
Natalia - Jan 1970
"Great setting for current situation during the COVID-19 pandemic, but a bit too far out from places to visit for most families with children."

"We booked a Signature Spa Lodge. Spotless modern and a feel good factor when you walked in. Dishwasher, washing machine, wine chiller big fridge freezer etc. Lovely hot tub. Beds so comfy. Sarah and cleaning team so helpful and happy. Lovely walk to their lake to feed the resident ducks and geese. Beach about a 25 minute drive so we headed out early to coast and then come back and chilled at lodge. A little shop in Dunkeswell that you could walk to for supplies if needed. We just went to Tesco in Honiton 10 min drive. So lucky with the weather but Id imagine its nice and cosy in the winter as radiators throughout. Super lodge definitely with paying a little bit more for the Signature lodges with hot tubs."
Gail - Jan 1970
"Rental could do with a tea towel and dishcloth. No frying pan so we had to go and buy our own. There was a dishwasher but some things need a better scrub before going in the washer."
Alison - Jan 1970

"Lovely hot tub very relaxing"
Jacqueline - Jan 1970
"We had a lovely time. The lodge could not be faulted and the location was great. Quiet but not to far from the coast or attractions."
Richard - Jan 1970
"Lovely spacious well equipped lodge. Very clean and tidy.
Not easy to find entrance and reception as no signposts and took 10 minutes to locate where we had to go even when on the correct road. However perfect location for exploring surrounding areas and no more than half hour drive to lots of lovely places to explore with the dog.
Hot tub was not up to temperature on day of arrival and we only went for a weekend so lost out on 1 evenings use which was disappointing.
Overall lovely stay though."
Katy - Jan 1970
"Spacious, plenty of storage, clean throughout and immaculate condition.
Hot tub was excellent."
Nichola - Jan 1970
"Signal was really low and no wifi was avaible at the location, apart of this everything was excellent"
Cornel - Jan 1970
"Only negative was the bed mattresses were too soft for us personally"
Patricia - Jan 1970
"Beautiful accommodation. I would definitely return."
Tracey - Jan 1970
"We had a fabulous break here as a family of 4. Kids ages 8 and 5 and the dog. The lodge itself was absolutely beautiful and the hot tub was the highlight. The staff are so friendly and welcoming . I arrived super early as my plan was to explore before checking in however my daughter wasn’t feeling well at all and we took the chance to ask if early checking was an option . I couldn’t believe how easy it was I explained the situation and I had my keys in minutes and the little one tucked up in bed . Thank you very much for that . The hot tub was checked everyday by a lovely man who gave us so much information about the best beaches and things to visit . He had a dog named Myrtle that my kids adored. The site itself however in the middle of nowhere is situated in the middle of a housing estate but there is a local shop,Indian restaurant and chippy. Supermarkets are a 15 min drive away . This is an ideal base to stay to visit places . You are 30-40 mins away from nearly every beach. A car is a must if you are staying here and planing to go places as nothing around within walking distance that we found other an a short woodland walk that was full of flies. We booked looking for a quiet chilled experience as we wanted to completely unwind and that is exactly what we got and enjoyed."
Emma - Jul 2022
"Staff very good, always helpful and willing to go out of their way to make sure that everything is okay."
Malcolm - Jun 2022
"I really enjoyed my staff at hornbeam. We stayed for a long weekend. The lodge was very nice, clean and had all amenities. The site was quiet so if you want a piece full break Hornbeam is an ideal location."
James - Jun 2022
"Excellent place for a holiday break, there are many places in the area worthwhile visiting, I highly recommend the donkey sanctuary. My wife and I will definitely be returning in the future."
