About Hawkchurch Resort And Spa

If you're looking for a blissful retreat, with indulgent spa treatments and a hydrotherapy pool on your doorstep, then Hawkchurch Resort and Spa is for you. The stylish accommodation is set within a haven of natural beauty on the Dorset/Devon border and boasts fabulous views over the Axe Valley. Just a short drive from Axminster and Lyme Regis, this is the place to relax and recharge.

The Ezina Spa has three treatment rooms as well as a gym, relaxation room, sauna and Hammam style steam room. You can take your pick from fitness classes, yoga and Pilates and when you've finished being pampered, enjoy a deliciously healthy dinner in the Bistro style restaurant which also has a luxurious bar and sun terrace.

We love the Austen Premier, a contemporary and spacious lodge with a large decking area, where you can relax in your private hot tub after a luxurious spa day. It has two king sized ensuite double bedrooms and two twin rooms as well as a spacious family bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. The lounge and kitchen is open plan and beautifully designed.

Lyme Regis is nestled around the mouth of the River Lim, and sits between the Undercliff National Nature Reserve and the stunning Blue Lias cliffs. The town has a wealth of independent shops selling gifts, clothes and jewellery. It also boasts a number of beaches and some lovely walks along the River Lym.

Hawkchurch Resort And Spa Reviews

"Will be going back as we had a wonderful family time together. Not many lodges can take 8 people. If they did a larger lodge we would love it."

"Fabulous location (you need a car to get about here), lovely lodges would def come again"

Katie - Aug 2020
"A great five days with amazing weather for most of the time. Great accommodation in lovely surroundings."
Terry - Aug 2020
"Lodge was good value for money. Only criticism was that a cooling system or air conditioning may be beneficial, as the lodge became extremely warm in the hot and muggy weather, despite best efforts of opening all windows."
Charlotte - Aug 2020
"a very comfortable lodge, plenty of room and well kitted out. An enclosed veranda with table and chairs was perfect for eating outside and the dishwasher and washing machine was a bonus too. Comfy beds and soft clean linen. 2 huge bathrooms with waterfall showers. A very comfy lodge"
Joanne - Aug 2020
"Would definitely recommend, great to get away after spending so long at home."
Anna - Aug 2020
"Fantastic - would like to return."
Clare - Aug 2020
"Lovely stay, clean comfortable accommodation, and excellent value for money, keeps making us return"
Joanne - Aug 2020
"Just a shame the twin beds could be put together. When I booked there were no double lodges left. The light was fantastic plenty of windows to open. We'll equipt and plenty of room."
Lisa - Aug 2020
"Had the leisure facilities and restaurant been open we may well have scored higher. It was an expensive weekend stay without the leisure facilities being open. The takeaway food was very good with good portion sizes and good value for money.
The lodge was very comfortable and we would love to return for another stay"
David - Aug 2020
"We had a really lovely little family holiday and will definitely return"
Adam - Aug 2020
"Would definitely rebook!!"
Jackie - Aug 2020
"We really enjoyed our short break. The lodge was perfect for our needs, very clean and we were impressed by the quality of the furniture and fittings. The only minor point was that we thought the frying pan needed replacement."
Richard - Aug 2020
"Comfortable and modern lodge with lots of space. The hot tub is essential!"
Catherine - Aug 2020
"Great location, 10 mins from Lyme Regis. Lovely, clean, modern lodge though no 35 doesn't get the sun on the patio. Not much choice regarding films unless you pay £2.99 for the preloaded ones."
Juliette - Aug 2020
"Gorgeous, spacious and comfortable. Very homely."
Miranda - Aug 2020
"Very clean and spacious."
Irene - Aug 2020
"As said, couples are penalised against 4 or more"
Barrie - Jul 2020
"Lodge great, a little tired in places."
Becp - Jul 2020
"Great relaxing holiday especially in these circumstances. I wish the park had something for children to do - a playpark, somewhere to play ball games or a basketball court would have helped them feel welcomed and on holiday, it's a little bland for them and there's nothing to engage them at all. Very quiet place."
Claire - Jul 2020
"Great accommodation."
Richard - Jul 2020
"The lodge was perfect."
Rebecca - Jul 2020
"Wonderful relaxing holiday, lodge very clean well equipped and the view was amazing, will definitely visit again ?"
Angela - Aug 2022
"We had a really lovely time at Hawkchurch. The views from our lodge were awesome and the location - although quite remote - is good for visiting places like Lyme Regis (15-20 minute drive) Seaton (20 minute drive) and Sidmouth (30 minute drive). Our lodge - a Hardy lodge - was well equipped and clean. I used the spa pool once - it is small, but nice for a little escape and ‘me’ time for an hour. The restaurant was good with good food, although I think they were perhaps a little short staffed when we visited meaning service was a little slow. Still, though, would recommend. We hope to return!"
Aimee - Aug 2022
"Great holiday, I liked that the site was quite after day of exploring local beaches and towns. Staff couldn't do enough. Reception staff gave a amazing welcome and first impression."
Debbie - Aug 2022
"Thoroughly enjoyed the week"
Brian - Aug 2022
"10 out of 10 all the way. Receptionist called me to say the lodge was ready before 4pm, which would have been handy to know if we had arrived early and were killing time. When we did arrive we were greeted by friendly staff, check in was straight forward. The lodge was really spacious, a home from home. Well actually better than my home ?. Very comfortable super king sized bed. Every where was very clean, smelt clean and fresh when we walked in. Everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, including a wine cooler, very important! On site facilities were excellent, small shop next to reception for necessities and a few luxuries and gifts. We ate in the restaurant the day we arrived, staff very friendly and efficient, food lovely and well priced. They had a Wurzells tribute act on in the evening which was good fun. Didn't use the gym or spa, prices were about average for treatments. The hydro-therapy pool, sauna and steam rooms were excellent though. The site itself was very well maintained, staff always busy doing something."
Sarah - Aug 2022
"Our check in time should have been 4pm on our arrival. I received a call on Sunday evening to say that our lodge would be available from 12pm if we wanted to arrive earlier. We had planned on arriving early anyway on the off chance it would be available earlier so this was good to know that it was confirmed. I chose this resort as I had been to a previous Darwin Escapes resort in Cornwall and I was very impressed with that site. This site was exactly the same. On arrival we went to reception and was greeted by a friendly member of staff. She gave us a map and showed us where we were located on the site. The lodge was open and our keys were on the side. Again in a little metal suitcase which you get to keep. Another nice touch that is consistent across their sites. The lodge was spotlessly clean. The tea, coffee, milk, cleaning items and toiletries provided are great to keep you going until you go to the local shops. Inside the lodge was huge for the two of us. We stayed in a Hardy Lodge (pet free) no. 73. It was at the bottom of the site and overlooked trees and fields. I though it was in a great position. There was a room with a king-size bed and a huge ensuite with double walk in shower. There was also a twin room and a separate bathroom with a bath and a shower. Both bedrooms had TV's on the wall, and the main also had a alarm clock with Bluetooth speaker. The decking to the rear of the lodge had a table with 4 chairs. Great for sitting out to eat or just chill. The only negative is the flooring within the lodge. I had seen some reviews where people had mentioned the squeaky floorboards. I didn't think this would be a problem but the whole lodge squeaked where ever you walked. This was quite loud as well so trying to go to the toilet in the middle of the night quietly was a no go as this echoed throughout the lodge. Probably wouldn't put me off going again but this is definitely something that needs to be looked at. We didn't use any of the facilities as we spent most of our time out in the neighbouring areas. Lyme Regis is a short drive away with a nice beach. Seaton is also not far away either. If you are driving to Seaton and want to park on the beachfront remember to have some cash with you for parking as they do not accept card payments. A little further out is Sidmouth which is also a nice little seaside town. If you plan to spend a lot of time on the site and you have children then this site is probably not for you as there are no facilities for them. This is more for adults looking for a nice relaxing break. If you only want to use it as a base to explore the area in great accommodation, then this is perfect. Would I go back - definitely."
Steven - Jul 2022
"We had a fantastic holiday. The resort was amazing and the lodge was spacious and one of the best we have been to. We were sad that we did not book a longer trip. We will definitely return and book a longer vacation next time."
Shibu - Jul 2022
"Lovely place, very spacious lodge which was spotlessly clean. Plenty of dogs so very dog friendly. Hydro pool was ok but not all the functions were working."
Ian - Jul 2022
"Really enjoyed our stay at Hawkchurch Resort. The lodge was gorgeous and felt like a home from home. The site was very calm and peaceful. The only thing that would've made it even better was if there was something to entertain the children, even a little play area would have been great. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great during our stay so it was more difficult to keep the children entertained. Would highly recommend though!"
Jodie - Jul 2022
"Excellent venue, helpful staff and fantastically clean property. It was comfortable and a perfect base for our weekend away."
Sue - Jul 2022
"The resort was so lovely, well maintained and peaceful. The lodge was better than I anticipated especially being one suitable for dogs. Well equipped, nice touches with the dishwasher tablets, the tin the key was stored in and the soaps etc. The hot tub was a god send- the maintenance guys check on it twice per day. Definitely recommend Hawkchurch resort for a recharging break. The spa was reasonably priced and worth a visit"
Jill - Jul 2022
"Overall amazing, everything was just perfect. Would highly recommend. I Will be going back in the future."
Imogen - Jul 2022
"Hawkchurch is a lovely resort. More aimed at adults though as no facilities really for children. It could do with a games room! Lovely rural location which was ideal for dog walks and runs. Spa is lovely and quiet."
Laura - Jul 2022
"Really enjoyed our stay. Staff were fabulous and very friendly. The lodge was very clean and well equipped kitchen was great. Would gladly recommend The resort."
Amina - Jul 2022
