Whipcott Water Reviews

"Overall very disappointed"
Alastair Dallas - Nov 2023
"Sofa was a little uncomfy / tv remote temperamental other than that great place to stay"
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"Wicket had obviously been repainted recently but this could not disguise the awful grouting and silicone in the bathroom. The chest of drawers was so unstable I didnt dare use it. The dishwasher wouldnt shut so it leaked everywhere when we tried to use it. A lot of the china was chipped and marked. Most of the jets in the hot tub didnt work and when I tried to switch them on a load of scum came out of them. Really disappointed so we came home after 3 days"
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"we stayed from August 14 for 4 NIGHTS. the property was spacious compare to a lodge or caravan.convenient parking space. It was too dark and no fresh feeling in the property. Lightings not sufficient and some bulbs not working at all. Overgrown grass and untidy outdoor areas. The hot tub area was total mess. The tub itself full of insects, dirt, dry leaves surrounded by spider webs. Tub cover very dirty and definitely need replacing."
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"Great as a base from which to explore the area and beyond. Clean, spacious and with the added bonus of a hot tub. But it is very dated on the inside and in need of a refresh. The kitchen area is old and not in the best condition with stains up the wall and across the ceiling which really should have been painted and cleared up , but it is functional. There was a broken socket where the facia had come away exposing the metal back plate, this is basic health and safety oversight of the owners and should be fixed as a priority. The hot tub was nice, but I did not believe someone came to test the water or add chemicals everyday, by day 4 it was evident that the cleaning regime was not in place. The description says you may experience some road noise, yes you will. It is next to a road used by large lorries to access a nearby quarry and you will notice them and you might want to ensure young children don't play on the drive way or front garden area as those lorries go past quite fast. But again personally this did not bother me as we used it as a base and after breakfast were out of the house all day, but do not book this property expecting unbroken peace and quiet during the working day. At night however peace reigns. If this property had a modern update, then it would be more appealing, but also probably more expensive. As costs go this was attractively priced and perfect for what we used it for."
John - Jun 2023
"Rather grubby appearance due to old, worn fixtures and fittings.Basic areas such as fridge, bath and toilet, sink etc clean.Bed linen clean and beds comfortable. Not enough towels for 1 per person.Outside area nice and secluded but overgrown, cobwebby and needed sweeping++Hot tub NOT maintained - expected somebody to appear to check and clean but nobody ever did and water was dirty - did not use last 2 days.Very overpriced for what was provided. Needs a complete makeover and much improved regular maintenance."
Carole - Jun 2023
"Very disappointing"
Nina - Jun 2023
"The property itself is lovely but does need attention. The furniture is a bit dated. The plumbing sings when you use the hot tap but theres plenty of hot water. The hot tub also had a couple of missing nozzles but it worked fine. There was also a birds nest in the loft space."
Dave - May 2023
"lovley cottage, lovley host would recommend to anyone"
Craig - Aug 2020
"Great place the family really enjoyed it."
Matthew - Aug 2020
"We loved it here. The staff went out of there way to help us and we're easily accessible and approachable.
Its far enough away for a relaxing quite time, but close enough for some days out if you wish."
Laura - Jul 2020
"The lodge was spacious and well equipped for our short break. The hot tub was the highlight and great to relax in."
Tamasine - Jul 2020
"AS stated before we as a group of four could not fault the accommodation or the area or the helpfulness of the owner Sue."
Roger - Jul 2020
"Me and my boyfriend enjoyed a very relaxing weekend away would highly recommend."
Amie - Mar 2020
"Excellent place to stay lovely cottage and hot tub as a bonus! Cottage was clean and tidy and had everything we needed."
David - Mar 2020
"Only issues we had was with the shower not having a lot of water pressure probably due to it being an old power shower. And the bed was two singles pushed together and felt like the centre of the mattress dipped. Other than that all facilities available where more than adequate."
Jason - Mar 2020
"Quiet, (the road noise was very very minimal.) Well equipped property perfect for get togthers and gatherings with friends and family."
Nathan - Feb 2020
"Easy and relaxed would highly recommend."
Chris - Feb 2020
"Excellent holiday cottage with full range of facilities. Just needed a couple of minor repairs to score perfect."
Nicola - Feb 2020
"Beautiful stay again at our second visit to whipcott water, lovely scenery at Hilltop Cottage, peaceful, relaxing. Sue is really welcoming and always happy to help.

Thank you for another lovely stay.

Laura & Brett"

"Perfect home away from
Home would highly recommend"
Sarah - Jan 2020
"Hilltop was a great place to explore from. We will return."
James - Dec 2019
"Excellent weekend away staying at Hopper. The bungalow and location were great, nice large living room/kitchen, nice bedrooms, very warm with an electric fire/heater in the living room as well. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of cooking utensils and had great facilities if you want to do some home cooking. The hot-tube was great, we used it every night and the owner came and cleaned it every morning. Would recommend visiting Bickleigh Mill and seeing the peacocks."
George - Nov 2019
"Love this place and cant wait to go back"
Rebecca - Nov 2019
