About Castle Pren Lodges

Castle Pren Lodges are stunning lodges with hot tubs in the Powys area of wales.  The countryside views are a real bonus and the location on an actual working farm make these lodges really unique.  Couples, and families with children would love the setting here.

The Eco friendly lodges are just a short drive from the Elan Valley reservoirs and also the famous Brecon Beacons National Park.  If you prefer a stroll then there is picture perfect farmland and Welsh hills right on the doorstep.  Alternatively cycle hire is available on the park - another option to get out and explore this stunning area.

The lodges themselves are bespoke in design, and offer open plan living with stylish decor.  French doors lead out onto lovely decking areas and of course the private outdoor hot tubs.  Imagine relaxing in your own outdoor hot tub taking in the countryside views.  The bedrooms are split into king size doubles and twin rooms although the twin rooms can be made into doubles by arrangement.

For a great day out head to the Small Breeds Farm Park and Owl Centre 13 miles away from the lodges.  It was voted Herefordshire Family Attraction of the Year.

Castle Pren Lodges Reviews

"Ideal for short break"
Richard - Oct 2024
"The lodge was very clean & the beds were very comfortable. You had nearly everything that you needed for your stay but be mindful that you are about 7 miles from the nearest shop so you're better taking a few bits with you. You are supplied with bedding & towels but you'll need your own products & if you don't want to be shopping on your first day, food."
Judith - Sep 2024
"Beautiful location and friendly helpful owners. Very spacious lodge. Excellent hot tub which the owner turned up a degree at our request. Hooks outside for towels would be good.Would benefit from more cutlery, new pillows with protectors and mattress toppers and protectors. Also there were no towels for hot tub use and no hair dryer in the property. We couldnt find a first aid kit either. All of these things have been standard in other lodges we have stayed in. The main bedroom only has patio doors so didnt feel comfortable leaving open at night so room got quite warm. Air conditioning in living area was very good though."
Verified Guest - Jul 2024
"Lovely lodge and hot tub. Great facilities, bathrooms could do with a bit of a refresh and clean but def would return."
ELIZABETH - Jul 2024
"Excellent location! Very peaceful & beautiful landscape. Large fenced off garden, great for the dogs. Clean private outdoor hot tub, definitely worth a visit!"
Stephen - Jun 2024
"Beautiful lodge, amazing facilities and wonderful setting"
Candice - May 2024
"Absolutely loved the lodge great setting, hot tub was nice the owners very helpful and always on hand to bring more wood for the log burner, would definitely recommend and I will return, Tesco and Aldi about 7 miles away. And all round perfect short stay highly recommended."
Anthony - May 2024
"Stunning views, fab hot tub. Remote location but not too far from nearest town.Wood burner was needed and well used. Excellent facilities."
Verified Guest - Jan 2024
"Lovely place to stayMy only complaint would be that the shower wasn't that powerful.....But sitting in a hot tub staring at the perfect clear night sky is amazing..."
Martin Young - Jan 2024
"ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT HOLIDAY! Fabulous location, excellent hosts (Andrew & Ellyn). The hot tub really made the holiday and was kept spotless and warm every single day. The lodge was VERY spacious with great views. Would thoroughly recommend the Lodge. Plus very tasty suedes pulled fresh from the ground by Andrew for us to eat! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU ????????"
Jackie - Dec 2023
"Incredible place to a small break. Fantastic scenery, absolutely amazing family team willing helping to help you out in anyway and answer any questions"
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"This was our second time here and we've booked again for next year for a week. The cabin has loads of space, the hot tub and outdoor space are great as well. The distance from the other lodge makes you feel really at ease with the neighbours, especially as our kids are very noisy. The WiFi and Aircon are welcome additions and we're great. The owner seemed nice and he was very stealthy on his early morning hot tub check. They were also very reasonable about our son trashing the sheets with a nosebleed. Perhaps a 50% trim on the hedge to make better use of the view from the deck would be my only improvement."
Verified Guest - Nov 2023
"Outstanding!!! Kids and adults enjoyed equally. Kids had loads of space to safely explore. Hot tub was a winner for all, couldn't get the kids of there! Thankfully thr hosts were a text away for a top of water ha ha, splash splash. The lodge had everything we needed. WiFi and netflix a lovely touch, especially late evenings catching down with a love. We love the Lake close by and took full advantage. The walks we went on were breath taking. Honestly feeling refreshed and planning to come back. What a wonderful holiday!!! Thank you."
Kayleigh - Nov 2023
"lovely may book both lodges for all my family next time"
Julie - Jul 2020
"The flys are so so annoying but that was the only down side everything else was perfect"
Alex - Jul 2020
"An amazing lodge, with great hospitality and a hot tub with a lovely view."
Kimberley - Mar 2020
"Beautiful location, lovely lodge with very friendly and helpful owner."
Stephen - Feb 2020
"Lovely relaxing holiday. Amazing views. Will go again."
Julie - Jan 2020
"Great place need to go back when the weather is better."
Gillian - Nov 2019
"Lovely gentleman who looked after us very helpful"
Nicola - Nov 2019
"Been to these lodges a few times , if you need to recharge your batteries this is the place to be, very relaxing"
Louise - Sep 2019
"This lodge has everything you need and more if you want piece, quiet and tranquility and not to mention the best views from a hot tub in the uk then this is the lodge for you, it was clean and spacious with a fenced in area for your dogs. The farmer and his wife were very friendly and welcoming and always at hand if you needed them nothing was too much trouble. We are looking forward to coming back"
Lesley - Aug 2019
"This is and as been the best lodge we have stayed in over the past 5/6 years of holidaying in the UK. This has the best facilities for your dogs as the area is fenced off and is a large field for them to play in. the hot tub is great and the view you get from here is breath taking. this is our third time here and we have booked again for our fourth visit. It is very secluded and very peaceful. The cabin itself is very spacious and as everything you will need. Highly recommended."
Sharon - Jun 2019
"Wonderful lodge has everything you need clean comfortable cosy"
Billie - Apr 2019
"Sais is essentially identical to the other lodge, Arran(?). It's clean, comfortable, and if you like self-catering lodges it's perfect. It doesn't have WiFi but this is a bonus. If it's there you end up using it -- just like I'm using it now to write this -- so sure, the internet is brilliant but what's even more brilliant is getting away from it for a few days."
Oli - Mar 2019
"The lodges are in a perfect place facing out over the hills enabling you to watch the sunset from the comfort of the hot tub. Whilst my group accepted that there is no WiFi which was a good cleanse, the lack of phone signal can become an issue at times. For anyone staying there, the bookshelf in the main room, the bathroom window both allow your phone to receive a signal. Other than that - couldnt fault it."
Callum - Mar 2019
"We will continue to keep coming here for short breaks"
Kylie - Feb 2019
"This is one of the best lodges we have ever stayed in. Spacious, clean, great facilities with a large private hot tub. The location is remote so there is no shops or restaurants etc in walking distance but this is perfect if you are looking for a break to get away from everyday reality. Also makes for perfect star gazing."
Emma - Oct 2018
"A great roomy lodge. Could be tricky with 6 occupants as only one shower and toilet. Great views private location."
David - Oct 2018
"So peaceful & relaxing. The surrounding area was beautiful & the hot tub at the lodge was an added bonus. Very well equipped lodge & a lovely sized garden for our son to play in. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing break & will definately book again."
Kelly - Aug 2018
"Very nice and relaxing a few more brochures at lodge of places to visit would be helpful."
Andrew - Aug 2022
"Lovely lodge, in the middle of nowhere, difficult to find first time, better signage would help"
Jean - Jul 2022
"Our family of 5 adults and 2 dogs had a lovely week at Sais Lodge. Owner was very welcoming and helpful. Beautiful location and spacious accomodation. Would definately visit again."
Katy - Jul 2022
"Lovely Lodge, maybe needs a little TLC in places. The owners have thought of everything to make your holiday stress free. So peaceful and relaxing."
Karen - Jun 2022
"Had a great stay at castle pren lodges, much bigger than I thought it would be! Location is beautiful and it’s so quiet. Would definitely recommend. Host was very helpful too!"
Natasha - Jun 2022
"The photos dose not do the lodge any justice, when we arrived we was very surprised how spacious it was. The kitchen was fully equipped, and very Clean. The hot tub was amazing!! And the weather was ok. Looking forward to coming back. Only issue if I was being picky is the shower, you couldn’t get it at a good temp. But very good value for money"
Patricia - Jun 2022
"So relaxing . Would highly recommend here. Went for my birthday and had a great time"
Jodie - May 2022
"Castle Pren Lodges absolutely blew us away upon arrival. The location is fantastic, so much wildlife and great views in every direction. We came to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of normal life and Castle Pren definitely delivered!"
Grace - May 2022
"We stayed here as a family and have to say it was perfect. Andrew was a great guy and even let the kids feed the lambs which was a nice touch. The lodge itself was lovely throughout and the hottub was great. Would definitely recommend and will be returning in the future."
Ian - Apr 2022
"Truly a beautiful place; the lodge was beautifully clean, spacious and tidy. We had everything we needed. The location is phenomenal and watching the sun set each evening is a real treat. We were lucky to see the lambs at this time of year too. This family run, amazing getaway is a real gem for families and we had a great few days unwinding and having fun visiting local nearby attractions. Hot tub, beautiful views, log burner…spot on! We’ll be back for sure - thanks for a lovely stay at your wonderful place."
Daniel - Apr 2022
"This was such a beautiful lodge, with beautiful surroundings. The staff and everyone in the local area, were just so helpful. The lodge had lots of little touches, that were just so sweet and really added to the whole experience. We are already looking at booking again.. as we can’t wait to return."
Donna - Apr 2022
"If you are seeking to escape from everything, this is the place to be. The lodge is well equipped and a lovely size for a family. We enjoyed a peaceful and restful weekend here, enjoying some of the local walks with our dogs."
Georgina - Apr 2022
"Beautiful lodge and beautiful surroundings, the photographs don't do it justice, everything in the lodge you could possibly want"
Kerry - Mar 2022
"Awesome place with amazing scenery. Just a shame with the weather we couldn’t go anywhere but the rain didn’t stop me having fun and the hot tub kept me going all weekend. Would definitely recommend. If I was gonna criticise anything it would be that you have to drive 20 minutes to the local town if you need anything but that’s only if your picky which I didn’t mind as you get to see what else is around scenery wise. As previously stated would definitely recommend and I will be back soon. Job well done"
Sam - Feb 2022
"This lodge is situated 8 miles from the local town, and is I a scenic calm place. If u like this sort of a thing its beautiful. We didn't have any issues . The kids loved it. And had a great time. The only thing I will say is the shower wasn't at all powerful and water was trickly."
