Castle Pren Lodges Reviews

"We loved the lodges spaciousness and the big hot tub was a real bonus. The rural setting with stunning hill views was perfect. The host was super friendly and friendly. Loads to explore nearby, especially Elan Valley!"
Emma Carter - Apr 2025
"We had a fantastic time here! The setting is stunning and really peaceful. The lodge was spotless and had everything we needed. The hot tub was definitely the highlight-it made our weekend so special. Well absolutely be coming back soon!"
Emma - Mar 2025
"Very handy and well thought out"
Emma - Feb 2025
"We stayed here recently and loved the peaceful location, perfect for relaxing. Unfortunately, the cleanliness was disappointing-kitchenware was filthy, the kettle needed descaling and cups and pots had food residues. Nothing felt truly clean. The pillows were super flat and there were no mattress or pillow protectors, which was a bit gross. The heating system was complicated to operate and the hot tub was slightly chilly. Such a shame because the design and setting are really lovely, but standards need to be higher."
Olivia Carter - Dec 2024
"Our Castle Pren Lodges review: Really enjoyed the stay"
James - Oct 2024
"We had a lovely stay at the lodge! It was spotless and the beds were super comfy, making for a great night's sleep. The place had most things we needed, but do remember you're about seven miles from the nearest shop, so it's best to bring some essentials with you. Bedding and towels are provided, but you'll want to bring your own toiletries and food to avoid last-minute shopping. Overall, a nice spot!"
Emma Clarke - Sep 2024
"We recently stayed at this lovely lodge and really appreciated the warm welcome from the owners, who were super friendly and helpful. The location is stunning and the place itself is really spacious, which we loved. The hot tub was a real highlight-owner even adjusted the temperature for us, which was a nice touch! A few small things could be improved, like adding hooks outside for towels and providing more cutlery. Also, wed suggest new pillows with protectors, mattress toppers and towels specifically for hot tub use. We couldnt find a hairdryer or a first aid kit either, which was a bit surprising. The main bedroom only has patio doors, so we kept it closed at night, making the room quite warm. Still, the air conditioning in the living area worked brilliantly. Overall, a great stay!"
Sam - Jul 2024
"We had a lovely stay! The lodge and hot tub were fantastic, though the bathrooms could use a bit of a sprucing up. Wed come back!"
Samantha - Jul 2024
"We loved the peaceful setting and stunning views. The fenced garden was perfect for our dogs and the private hot tub was a real treat!"
Emma - Jun 2024
"Really enjoyed our stay, would recommend it."
Amelia - May 2024
"We had a fantastic stay! The lodges location was lovely and the hot tub was just what we needed after a long day. The owners were super helpful, always ready with more logs for the fire. Definitely plan to come back - highly recommended for a relaxing break!"
James - May 2024
"We loved the peaceful setting and breathtaking views. The hot tub was a real treat after exploring. Facilities were spot on, definitely recommend!"
Emily Carter - Jan 2024
"We really enjoyed our stay here, though the shower was a bit underwhelming. The highlight was definitely relaxing in the hot tub, gazing up at the stunning night sky! Lovely experience overall."
Oliver Bennett - Jan 2024
"We had an absolutely cracking time! The location was spot on, with stunning views that really made the trip special. The hosts, Andrew and Ellyn, were lovely and made us feel right at home. The hot tub was a definite highlight - always warm and spotless. The lodge was super spacious, perfect for relaxing. And those fresh pulled suedes? Delicious! Thanks a bunch!"
Harriet - Dec 2023
"Had a lovely stay! The scenery was stunning and the family running the place were so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend for a chill break!"
Emma Carter - Nov 2023
"We had such a lovely time during our second stay here and weve already booked for next year! The cabin offers plenty of space, which is perfect for us and the outdoor area with the hot tub is definitely a highlight. Being a bit away from the other lodges really gives you that peaceful vibe, especially since our kids are quite loud. The WiFi and air conditioning are real bonus features-they make relaxing so much easier. The owner was friendly and we appreciated how discreet he was during his early morning hot tub checks. Also, they were really understanding when our son managed to get nosebleed on the sheets. The only thing Id suggest is trimming the hedge a bit to get a better view from the deck. Otherwise, its a fantastic spot!"
Emily Roberts - Nov 2023
"We had an amazing time! The kids loved having plenty of space to run around and the hot tub was a massive hit with everyone-couldn't tear them away! The hosts were super helpful and quick to respond whenever we needed anything. The lodge was well-equipped, with WiFi and Netflix, which was perfect for relaxing evenings. We also enjoyed exploring the nearby lake; the walks were truly stunning. Overall, it was a fantastic break and were already thinking about coming back. Such a lovely holiday! Thanks so much!"
Emily - Nov 2023
"Really enjoyed our stay, would definitely book both lodges again."
Emma - Jul 2020
"The flies were a real pain, but honestly, everything else about the place was spot on! Quite impressed."
Jamie - Jul 2020
"The lodge was cosy and welcoming, honestly we felt right at home instantly. The hot tub was a real treat, especially with that stunning view. Hospitality was spot on, they couldnt have been more friendly or helpful. Would definitely recommend it for a relaxing getaway, we loved every minute!"
Emma - Mar 2020
"The lodge is really charming and the owner couldnt be more friendly."
Emily - Feb 2020
"Great trip, stunning scenery, definitely planning to return!"
Emma - Jan 2020
"Really enjoyed our visit, just wish the weather had been better."
Emma - Nov 2019
"Very friendly service, made us feel very welcome."
Emma - Nov 2019
"We've visited these lodges several times now and honestly, theyre perfect for unwinding. Definitely a great spot to relax and recharge your batteries."
Emma - Sep 2019
"We had a lovely stay at this lodge - honestly, it ticks all the boxes if you're after peace and quiet. The views from the hot tub are genuinely some of the best in the UK and it was so relaxing to unwind there. The place was spotless and spacious, plus theres a fenced area perfect for our dogs. The farmer and his wife were super friendly and really helpful whenever we needed anything. Were already planning to return, cant wait!"
Emma - Aug 2019
"Honestly, this has to be one of the nicest places we've stayed in the UK over the years. The fenced area and big field for the dogs are such a bonus - they loved running around freely! The hot tub is just perfect after a day out and the view from there is absolutely stunning. Weve been here three times now and already booked again for next year. The place is so quiet and peaceful, which we really appreciate. The cabins really roomy and has everything we need. Definitely a place well keep coming back to. Highly recommend!"
Emma - Jun 2019
"Great stay, everything was clean, comfy and super cosy!"
Jessie - Apr 2019
"We stayed at Sais and honestly, its pretty much the same as the other lodge, Arran, I think. The place is spotless, super comfy and if youre into self-catering, its just right. No WiFi, which actually was a nice change-I mean, if its there, you kind of end up using it, right? But honestly, sometimes its just great to switch off for a bit and enjoy the peace and quiet."
Jamie - Mar 2019
"We really enjoyed our stay at the lodges. The location is stunning, with views over the hills that make watching the sunset from the hot tub a real treat. We appreciated the no WiFi policy - its a nice break - but the poor phone signal can be frustrating sometimes. Luckily, the bookshelf in the main room and the bathroom window help get a bit of reception. Honestly, other than that, we couldnt fault it. Lovely place!"
Jamie - Mar 2019
"Very nice and relaxing a few more brochures at lodge of places to visit would be helpful."
Andrew - Aug 2022
"Lovely lodge, in the middle of nowhere, difficult to find first time, better signage would help"
Jean - Jul 2022
"Our family of 5 adults and 2 dogs had a lovely week at Sais Lodge. Owner was very welcoming and helpful. Beautiful location and spacious accomodation. Would definately visit again."
Katy - Jul 2022
"Lovely Lodge, maybe needs a little TLC in places. The owners have thought of everything to make your holiday stress free. So peaceful and relaxing."
Karen - Jun 2022
"Had a great stay at castle pren lodges, much bigger than I thought it would be! Location is beautiful and it’s so quiet. Would definitely recommend. Host was very helpful too!"
Natasha - Jun 2022
"The photos dose not do the lodge any justice, when we arrived we was very surprised how spacious it was. The kitchen was fully equipped, and very Clean. The hot tub was amazing!! And the weather was ok. Looking forward to coming back. Only issue if I was being picky is the shower, you couldn’t get it at a good temp. But very good value for money"
Patricia - Jun 2022
"So relaxing . Would highly recommend here. Went for my birthday and had a great time"
Jodie - May 2022
"Castle Pren Lodges absolutely blew us away upon arrival. The location is fantastic, so much wildlife and great views in every direction. We came to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of normal life and Castle Pren definitely delivered!"
Grace - May 2022
"We stayed here as a family and have to say it was perfect. Andrew was a great guy and even let the kids feed the lambs which was a nice touch. The lodge itself was lovely throughout and the hottub was great. Would definitely recommend and will be returning in the future."
Ian - Apr 2022
"Truly a beautiful place; the lodge was beautifully clean, spacious and tidy. We had everything we needed. The location is phenomenal and watching the sun set each evening is a real treat. We were lucky to see the lambs at this time of year too. This family run, amazing getaway is a real gem for families and we had a great few days unwinding and having fun visiting local nearby attractions. Hot tub, beautiful views, log burner…spot on! We’ll be back for sure - thanks for a lovely stay at your wonderful place."
Daniel - Apr 2022
"This was such a beautiful lodge, with beautiful surroundings. The staff and everyone in the local area, were just so helpful. The lodge had lots of little touches, that were just so sweet and really added to the whole experience. We are already looking at booking again.. as we can’t wait to return."
Donna - Apr 2022
"If you are seeking to escape from everything, this is the place to be. The lodge is well equipped and a lovely size for a family. We enjoyed a peaceful and restful weekend here, enjoying some of the local walks with our dogs."
Georgina - Apr 2022
"Beautiful lodge and beautiful surroundings, the photographs don't do it justice, everything in the lodge you could possibly want"
Kerry - Mar 2022
"Awesome place with amazing scenery. Just a shame with the weather we couldn’t go anywhere but the rain didn’t stop me having fun and the hot tub kept me going all weekend. Would definitely recommend. If I was gonna criticise anything it would be that you have to drive 20 minutes to the local town if you need anything but that’s only if your picky which I didn’t mind as you get to see what else is around scenery wise. As previously stated would definitely recommend and I will be back soon. Job well done"
Sam - Feb 2022
"This lodge is situated 8 miles from the local town, and is I a scenic calm place. If u like this sort of a thing its beautiful. We didn't have any issues . The kids loved it. And had a great time. The only thing I will say is the shower wasn't at all powerful and water was trickly."
Farzana - Feb 2022
