"Me and my partner have just got back from a long weekend here, absolutely perfect if you want to escape life!!!
We got there at half 12/1 even though we couldnt check in until 4 and was just going to ask if they could give us a call when the lodge was ready (if it was going to be done before 4) and the plan was to explore while we waited but the owner said we could go straight to the lodge which was great! He was really friendly, showed us to the lodge and how the hot hub worked etc then he never bothered us again all weekend (although he was on hand if we had needed him). I read a review saying that the cabins were dirty but ours was immaculately clean... to the point where my partner tested the top of the four poster bed for dust as a joke (expecting there to be a bit as its high up and out of the way) but there wasnt any at all... the whole cabin was spot less! Has everything you would need for self catering... and the dishwasher was a nice extra! Hot hub was lovely... it rained the first night but we were still sat in the hot bubbles! And luckily the sun was lovely the rest of the weekend so was brilliant to sit in the hot tub in the sunshine... especially with the bbq going!
The pub down the road is nice although we never got chance to eat there as they dont serve all day on a Sunday and we had just missed dinner so we were a bit disappointed as we had read how good the good is (check the times)!
As we missed dinner at the pub and we had both had a drink we were a bit stuck for food so you need to think a head, luckily we found an Indian take away in just eat! Highly recommended! shabagh tandoori in Leominster! I rang and explained where we were staying, they delivered to us we just had to meet them at the Entrance... we were even cheeky and asked them to stop at the shop for us on their way and they did!!
These cabins are a hidden gem, they are in the middle of no where but still close enough to towns etc if needed. Great if you just want to get away from life and relax. We were a bit worried about no phone signal in case there was a problem with the children back home but we both had a signal the whole time. Would definitely recommend and will be going back!
Highlight of the weekend has to be sat in the hot tub at 10pm looking at the stars and as their isnt any light pollution from street lights etc the sky is pitch black and a real treat when the stars are shining!"
